About the role
Reporting to the Divisional General Counsel, you will join a collegial and high performing legal team providing practical and commercial legal advice to the construction businesses. Variety is guaranteed, as you will provide legal advice and support during tender processes, on the negotiation of construction contracts, project delivery issues, and construction disputes. There is also scope for this role to encompass advice on general contracting, procurement, environmental, and health and safety issues.
What we’re looking for:
- At least 10 years’ PQE, with private practice and (ideally although not essential) inhouse experience, and a current NZ practising certificate
- Sound experience dealing with a variety of general construction disputes, ideally including PPP experience
- Experience acting for a Contractor on Infrastructure/Engineering projects preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop relationships of trust and confidence at all levels of the business
