Our property department in Wellington is looking to recruit an experienced lawyer to join the team.  This is a great opportunity for a highly motivated, senior, commercial property lawyer who is looking for excellent career prospects within a top tier law firm environment, and who is ready to work immediately on some of New Zealand’s most complex and significant property projects and transactions.

We are particularly interested in lawyers who have excellent technical and practical skills, as well as having the interpersonal skills to build strong rapport with our team members and our clients.   Ideally, you will have 7+ years' experience in general commercial property and have reached a level in your career where you are recognised by the market and comfortable running your own files, interacting directly with clients and taking on the supervision of junior solicitors.

The department has a diverse mix of clients, which include public sector entities (Crown and territorial authorities), international and national property investors and developers, large corporates, iwi and private clients based throughout New Zealand. The workload is interesting and broad, and includes:

  • significant Government projects (for example we are working extensively on the Government’s transport infrastructure, social housing and new prison capacity programmes)
  • large-scale territorial authority development projects throughout New Zealand
  • significant private sector development projects
  • construction and procurement
  • acquisitions and disposals
  • joint ventures
  • overseas investment
  • commercial leasing

The successful applicant(s) will join a successful and well supported national team led by David Chisnall in Wellington and working closely with Andrew Petersen and Ian Becke in Auckland.

Please apply now via our website, or call Haylie Everson on 04 915 6512 for a confidential discussion.
