This newly created role is an important 2IC to the Head of Regulatory Affairs and has scope for you to help shape the function and the team.  As a foundation member of a team that is anticipating rapid growth you will enjoy a mix of the technical and the practical.  Your strong technical legal and compliance experience, leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills will all combine to play a key role in leading this Insurer through the regulatory changes ahead and respond to emerging industry issues.

To succeed in this role, ideally you will have:

  • An LLB and at least 5 years PQE gained in a top tier law firm or leading inhouse legal team
  • Financial services industry experience (preferably insurance)
  • Sound understanding of financial sector issues
  • Experience in or knowledge of NZ government, regulators or parliamentary processes
  • A passion for change and a curiosity to learn more in this evolving area, strong communication and relationship building skills, strong attention to detail and drive to succeed
