We have been asked to make a call out to ambitious and adventurous kiwi lawyers who might be interested in a move to the Middle East. It has become a less well-trodden path in recent years, but the opportunities, experience and rewards remain.
A leading regional firm is looking for an experienced intermediate level property lawyer to join their Dubai based Real Estate team. They act for sellers and purchasers of a wide range of industrial, commercial, retail, leisure and residential sites. They also work with investors and financiers on transactions, often using non-conventional structures.
Other work includes:
- Developer/Project Work
- Landlord and Tenant matters for commercial and retail buildings
- Owners Associations; and
- General Property Advice.
The jurisdiction means that you need an adaptable attitude and an understanding that the answer is not always black and white. They value people who can think outside the square and have the drive to push for a solution and a satisfactory outcome. You will likely have experience from a larger firm, but it will be the quality of your property experience that will be important
The firm has had good experiences hiring kiwis and in fact the Head of Property is a kiwi, so he would be able to offer insight into the transition.
