The role will be based in Christchurch and as part of the Employee Relations – People and Capability team, the role will see you work across an incredible range of interesting employment and industrial relations matters. The team is headed by an experienced employment lawyer who gained her experience in the top tier and in-house, in New Zealand and London.
You’ll be working on employment matters that involve people across a wide range of disciplines including tradespeople, doctors, nurses, administration staff etc. On a day-to-day basis you’ll provide advice to managers and executive leaders and will also represent the organisation in union negotiations, mediations and employment law disputes. You’ll ensure leaders operate within and comply with employment law and other relevant legislation and lead change in the creation and implementation of employment and industrial relations best practice guidelines, systems and processes.

The role will suit an experienced employment lawyer with at least five years’ experience, gained in-house and/or in private practice. The team will also consider other professionals who can demonstrate significant experience dealing with employment and industrial relations.
