A respected Christchurch firm is offering an opportunity for someone to get started on that path to partnership early. They already have a strong litigation team dealing with any employment matters that come their way, but they are looking for someone to come on board and further develop that specialty, with a view to ultimately leading that area of work.
The firm's roots stretch back almost 100 years and they are proudly Canterbury-based, but have worked hard to establish client relationships and networks across the country, creating plenty of further potential. They believe that people are the heart of the business, as employees and clients, and have a philosophy that recognises
individual needs rather than a cookie-cutter approach. To succeed with them your approach to the law should reflect that as well.
The current employment practice deals with a range of matters for individuals and companies across advisory and disputes, but there is room for more growth. There is an opportunity for you to ultimately lead this practice for the firm and have the satisfaction of steering it as you implement your ideas. As such you will probably need at least 5 years PQE with good quality employment law experience. Of course
drive, energy and strong relationship-building skills will also be important.
