As a senior level lawyer in the team you will have day-to-day management of a range of matters for your clients, liaising directly with HR teams, board members and owners. Alongside first class legal advice, they seek to provide guidance on the strategic aspects of HR management as well.
Complex litigation will be a large part of the work across jurisdictions from mediation, through appearances before the Employment Relations Authority, the Employment Court and all higher courts. They have also built a strong reputation in the growing area of health & safety law. There will be a small amount of employee work for senior executives, acting privately on issues such as personal employment agreements, remuneration and benefits, severance, corporate governance, personal grievances, and employee share scheme issues.
You will need a strong track record in employment law with another well respected team and perhaps looking to progress to a more senior role. The partner heading up the Wellington team is keen for someone to take a step up in responsibility and you will get full support as you continue to build your own client base and reputation.
